Start your design process

OurDesignProcess

Once we have received your enquiry and have gathered your details via the invitation form or a phone call, a contract will be signed that outlines our commitment to you. Our services and design will then be secured with a deposit of 50% of your proposed quote.

The design phase then begins with a sketch to map out all the pieces within your invitation suite. This sketch is how we plan your layout, artwork, custom calligraphy, paper types and assembly details. This is the perfect opportunity for us to make sure every detail reflects you and your wedding.

In the next stange you will receive a digital design proof wth your created design layouts, artwork and calligraphy for each piece in your suite with an example of how they are assembled together. Our dedication to creating a final design that you absolutely love means that we can make any necessary changes to the design before it is signed off for print approval.

Following printing, your invitations are then lovingly addressed, assembled and send to you to post out to your guests.

Why ChooseUs

All of our custom designs include unlimited calligraphy and line/waterolour illustrations that are unique and personal to you and your wedding. We also love to use the same calligraphy and artwork style throughout your wedding day stationery to make sure your wedding has a cohesive and signature style.

Our custom design process typically takes 2 to 3 months. (If you need to work to a shorter timeframe then take a look at our Semi-Custom Collection.) We pride ourselves in leading you through a design process that you enjoy, making sure that it is stress free, and one of your favourtie parts of planning your wedding.

Our dedication to creating a design that you absolutely love means that we do not limit the number of proofing rounds in the design phase. Most often, two or three are required so we allow for this in our initial timeline estimates (each additional proof can delay the delivery of your finished invitation suite).

Custom Invitation Design Starts at £1,000. The price is effected by your quantity, number of pieces in your invitation suite, printing method/s and chosen embellishments e.g. wax seals, envelope calligraphy, illustrated map etc. Once we receive your enquiry, we'll be able to provide you with a detailed quote tailored to your wedding vision and budget.

"Jenni is incredibly talented and made everything easy and stress free! From first contact, she had so many creative ideas and her interpretation of our suggestions were better than we could have imagined! Throughout the process Jenni’s communication, attention to detail and knowledge of her craft were outstanding! We are so happy we chose Jenni and would highly recommend her to any future couples looking for spectacular wedding stationary!"

"Working with Jenni was like working with an old friend. She is lovely, personable and genuinely cares about your big day. She is also extremely organised, talented and reliable. Jenni was very good at understanding our vision for our wedding stationery, even when we were very vague at the beginning of the process as to what we would specifically like. Her suggestions were brilliant and just to our taste!"

- Ruth & Alex -

"Jenni went above and beyond to create our stationery. Some ideas could be hard to articulate, but she was a pro at creating our vision. No detail or change was a bother. Jenni was always so prompt to reply, make changes, and suggest ideas. Her planning timeline simplified it all, so we were always on the same page. It was amazing to work closely with someone with such a sharp eye and love for her work."

"The guests just loved the invites - many have told us that their hand calligraphed envelopes still sit out in letter holders, looking pretty. The on-the-day pieces tied the whole wedding together - we used them to highlight specific aspects like our Confetti Bar, favours, menus and table names. It made the wedding feel cohesive and looked utterly gorgeous."

Printing Methods

flat printing

letterpress printing

hot foil printing

Flat printing has the ability to show the widest variety in colours, tones and gradients and is perfect for showing watercolour illustrations. It is not, capable of printing metallic ink colours, however you can bring in gold into you invitation suite by using it for the envelope calligraphy and wax seal for example.

Flat printing does not require an engraved plate. It is therefore the fastest printing method and is at the lowest price point.

Printing methods can change the overall look and feel of your invitation suite.
We will work with you to recommend the best printing method or combination of methods depending on your personal wedding style, aesthetic and budget. We specialise in flat, hot foil and letterpress printing.

Hot foil printing uses a engraved metal plate to press the design into the paper. This method creates both a beautiful impression into the paper (similar to letterpress) and a high metallic shine. Foils are available in many different shades including antique gold and deep copper.

It is really beautiful to combine hot foil and flat printing into an invitation suite. In this example opposite, the hot foil printing makes the venue illustration stand out on the main invitation.

Letterpress printing is a very traditional and stunning method of printing. It is created using a a engraved metal plate to press the design into thick card. The indentation into the paper is deep and creates a beautiful feel and quality that cannot be matched.

Letterpress printing is done is one solid matt colour, but can be combined with flat printing for a different look. Due to the process and skill required, this printing method is at a higher price point.
